Best foundation?
I figured that my fellow GC'ers might be able to help me out here.
I'm on the lookout for a new foundation. I've tried perfectly real from Clinique (it made my complexion look off) as well as Mac select (made me break out and really clogged my pores). I have pretty dry skin, and have heard mixed reviews from people who use bare escentials (at least those who also have dry skin). I wanted to try both Prescriptives Virtual Skin Super-Natural Finish, as well as Chanel Teint Fluide. Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks :) |
ask Rudey. He sells Mary Kay

I use Almay's Nearly Naked and I LOVE it! It's nice and cheap, but it works great for me. I don't know anyone else who has liked it as much as I do, but there ya go. |
OK I kid you not, I was thinking this would be a discussion on charitable foundations. I had it all planned out. Someone with say George Soros and his little Open charity and I'd go berzerk. But this is GC, and I should have known better.
-Rudey --Try Maybelline because the girls in the "Maybe it's Maybelline" commercials are hot |

(I don't even know if they make a "foundation," but Mrs. DA has used Este Lauder stuff for years.) |

Have you tried the MAC Moistureblend. I had to buy this recently because the weather was making my skin dry and the MAC studiofix wasnt helping. It's quite sheer, too. I like it so far. |
I just got the Dream Matte Mousse stuff to try since I can't afford the nice stuff right now, and I love it. It's nice and cheap to try :)

No Funny come back Sh*t, but is there something guys can use?
Ks. Winters can suck!:( Feel like I could peal of a lb. of fleash! |
I have really dry skin as well, so I need to use a liquid foundation. The best one that I found was custom blended for me by Bilkerdijk Cosmetics (http://bilkerdijk.com). They matched my skin tone perfectly and also added some glycerin to the formula so that it would help replenish oil to my skin. Its definately the best foundation I've ever used.

I love Bourjois. It's a line by Chanel, very affordable and available at Sephora. My $20 bottle has lasted me 5 months. I bought a good foundation brush because sponges just suck up the foundation.
This foundation doesn't go on greasy, includes an SPF 15 and is light on your face so you don't feel caked on. |
I swear by bareminerals, but I have combination skin. So I guess that doesn't really help.

I'm with Delt Alum's wife - in the winter, I use Estee Lauder's Lucidity. There is some ingredient in the formula which cause light to diffuse nicely!

I don't wear foundation much anymore, but do not, under any circumstances, waste your money on Bobbe Brown if you have skin that's anywhere near oily. It made me break out like you would not believe, and after I'd had it on for a while it just looked greasy and oily. Buurrggghhh. Other people I've known with skin types similar to mine have said the same thing. Supposedly the stick kind is better than the "cream" kind I had, though.

I like Shiseido. It makes my skin feel like porceline.
If you are on a budget though, I would go with the mousse that Xylochick216 recommended. I use that when I am in-between shades if I tan. |
