The LSU Chapter of Delta Gamma has made facebook characters of George Banta (the only male initiated into Delta Gamma), Hannah Doll (DG's mascot), and Golden Anchor (DG's symbol). They are a big hit with DG's all over the nation.

Also, I'm friends with the Hokie Man from VT. There are several other "funny" characters out there...I know the Golden Gate Bridge exists too.

It's a neat little gimick.

MSU has some great characters... of course Sparty, everyone should be his friend! There is also Jesus, he dresses up and goes to football games, there was even a series of shirstd made that read Jesus Loves Tailgaters! We also have George Bush... I mean theres lots of fun people to be friends with!

Isn't the point of the article that this chapter used face book for recruiting and expansion and that is has really paid off for them? It's something that other chapters can do to recruit and for smaller GLOs to try and expand in the market.

Do a search for kids who are coming to your school next year and go through their profiles to find out how to rush them and if they'd be a good fit...sounds like a pretty good system to me.
