Help... looking for a thread
 

Help me because I am Search Function Lame. I swear there was a thread here that gave ideas for conversation starters, but I don't think it was called that. I've tried looking but I either come up empty handed or I have 800 results.

I guess I'm looking for the opposite of "Rush: What NOT to do or say."

I think this is an insightful thread, although I'm not sure it's what you're looking for.

Mmm... kind of.

Basically I'm an advisor next semester and I'm putting together a newsletter. I wanted one of the articles to give ideas on how to start and hold conversations with PNMs. The major/dorm/year in school questions get old and tend to lead to dead ends.

Since our recruitment is less formal, we have more time each night with the girls. So the conversations are longer and need to be more creative... without being weird.

So I'm searching for good questions to avoid short answers and awkward silences.

ETA: Ok I found some in the general advice thread that is stickied. But I'm open to more.
