Do Teenagers Make Good Parents

How much is age a factor in ones ability to be a good parent?

Its really not age that is the deciding factor but it is mentality. A teenager doesn't have the mentality to raise a child because they are only children themselves.

I will say that there is an exception to the rule because I do know of one young lady that was a teenage mom and she graduated from high school with honors and from college cum laude and is on top of her game right now. I do think alot of it was the support from family that she had.

Definately mentality. This girl in my class had a baby in 9th grade. We were all like DAMN, but she was ok, not hoeish. She finished HS on time, and when I saw her in Giant's a few months ago, her daughter was very well behaved (and 10!!!!) and she was doing well, had finished college and all.

Some teenagers may be good parents. As long as they know that their child is not a doll they can pick up and put down on their whim, or dress accordingly.

The teenage parents need to realize that babies have needs that must be fulfilled and that they are responsible for the person their baby becomes.

There are teenage parents who are better parents than some older first time parents. Not everyone is meant to be a parent, and those that become parents should do the best job they can and utilize the support systems they have available to them.

I know I just rambled, but these are my thoughts on the subject at hand......
