People blowing their nose in public
I know it's cold and flu season, but is it really necessary to blow your nose in public places? I mean can't you go some where like the bathroom or out in the hall? If you must blow our nose in public, please try to be discreet about it. There's a dude two computers down from me who is blowing his nose so hard that it is making fart noises. Whenever he's done, he takes a peek at the "business" he produced in the tissue. Then there's another guy behind me who is hocking loogies and swallowing them back down. Here's the worst, on occasion I see people outside without any tissue at all, so they pinch one nostril and blow out the other one as hard as they can ONTO THE GROUND!
EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!   |
I seem to be allergic to everything under the sun, and since I'm pregnant and can't take any medication, I am stuck blowing my nose wherever I go. I think it can be a lot to ask someone to walk to the bathroom every couple of minutes potentially to blow their nose. As long as they turn away from others when doing it (like those people who blow right over food at dinner-yuck), and don't do anything gross, I think it's ok. The guys you work with are just gross though, but they sound like the types who would chew with their mouths open and would burp in public.

I find it gross, yes. If you have to do it, you can be somewhat discrete about it.
It's like coughing in public. If I have to cough in public (which I try to avoid) I cover my mouth as much as humanly possible. Cause it's gross to see and hear other people doing it... Ewwww. |
What about in the office kitchen that happens to be next to like five offices? I mean, dude blows washes afterward, but that's kinda iffy...

I tend to need to use a tissue a lot, too, but I carry a plastic bag in my purse to dispose of them. I also use Purell (the antiseptic hand cleaner that doesn't need water) by the gallon, and quite possibly, the only person on GC with masks in my purse!
ETA: People who spit in public should be shot on site. In fact, I think there should be a bounty put on them! |
Lol why do you carry masks??
I hate it when people do it at the dinner table. My sister in law used to. Eh. I always had a fear of blowing during class. I didn't wana disturb, and I was always afraid I'd end up leaving behind something, no matter how much I wiped. |

Blowing your nose in the kitchen area is absolutely disgusting -- I hate when people do that... that is why i carry hand sanitizer everywhere I go

I hate blowing my nose when there are people around, I just think that no matter how "normal" it is, it just sounds disgusting!! lol. So I always try to wait til I get out of class or whatever to run to the bathroom and do it!! |
If I know that I'm about to blow a load (ie I'm sick or my allergies are kicking ass), I excuse myself and go to the bathroom.
If it's just one sneeze and the nose is runny, I'll still excuse myself, go off somewhere and blow my nose. I'll make sure that my back is facing them so they don't see me actually blowing it. In my opinion, someone who's nose is super runny and keeps on inhaling just to keep the load in is more annoying than someone who chooses to blow their nose in public, especially when you start seeing the post nasal drip. |

Yep, I'm packing masks - and gloves, Purell, and Lysol for the car. No way are I catching any of those nursing home "goodies"! |
