Alpha Gams at West Georgia
I was just wondering what everyone thinks of Alpha Gams at West Georgia. I attened Valdosta State University right now but I am transfering to West Ga in fall 2001 amd I will be staying with Alpha Gam there, i just wanted to know what people thought of them and what are some of the other big sororities on that campus? Thank you...

There are 6 groups: Alpha Gam, Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Delta Delta Delta, Kappa Delta, and Phi Mu.

Generally, the top 3 are considered to be Phi Mu, Tri Delt, and Chi O. Alpha Gam and KD are also pretty good, although those other 3 are often thought of as "the best". AZD has some more work to do, but as the youngest sorority chapter on campus (only @ 10 years old) they still have some growing up to do. Alpha Gam has had its flashes of glory in the past, and as few as 5 or 6 years ago was considered to be third or fourth best on campus. Starting around '94-'95, Chi O made HUGE advances and knocked Alpha Gam out of the top 3. AGD and KD now regularly compete for 4th, but I have several friends in both AGD and KD, as well as the other "top" sororities.
Of course, all this is just my OPINION, but I think it's pretty unbiased. |
its this still your opinion>

Julie,
The best way to know how the Alpha Gams at West Georgia is to get to know them yourself. Remember when you went through recruitment at Valdosta - you probaby heard lots of opinions from people about each sorority but until you got to know them did only then were you able to form your own opinion based upon your experiences. Remember, the biggest and/or the most popular sorority doesn't guarantee that those women have the beliefs, values, and other wonderful sisterhood things for which you hold in high esteem. |
Didn't he already say that lol?

Here's my biased opinion, lol. My Gamma Tau sisters are wonderful! They include beauty queens, won scholarships, are on sports teams, get involved with campus and philanthropic events. I've seen a strong sisterhood.
My advice is the same as my AGD sister Susan's...everyone will try to give you their advice and their "perception" of what Alpha Gamma Delta, Tri Delt, Phi Mu, KD, AXiD and/or XO "are". Meet as many sisters as you can in the different organizations and form your own opinion. After all, you will be the one to enjoy or not enjoy any pledgeship or life-time membership. |
