He was fun to watch. Too bad.
|
Mr. Morita was also a longtime Hawai`i resident who frequented the local community theater scene. I remember meeting him when I was 8 and I was so excited because I got to meet the guy from Happy Days and the Karate Kid.
He shall be missed. :( |
Rest in peace, Brother Pat...
Pat Morita was a patient in the Shrine hospital when he was a kid... when he was cured, he repaid the favor by becoming a Mason and a Shriner himself. |
|
He also was credited with "rewriting" the scene in Karate Kid where he is drunk and remembering his late wife. He added the military service aspect and even hummed a real song that was sung at the Japanese internment camps during WWII. I think that was the best scene in the film.
