This is scary.
 

So, while doing research for a sociology class, this came up:

"The National Alliance [one of the largest white supremacist hate orgs in the US] has recently launched a recruiting drive directed at white fraternity brothers at colleges and universities across the nation. The plan calls for a mass printing of thousand of copies of Resistance magazine, a publicity organ of Resistance Records [a white supremacist record label], and mailing them free of charge to fraternities across the United States. The National Alliance believes that the racist content of the magazine will be well received on college campuses."

That's just a piece of the article, the whole thing is pretty disturbing. We're trying to research it further, but hate group activity is usually not the most above ground kind of thing.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you guys thought about this.

oh puh-leeze! i would like to credit the vast majority of white fraternity brothers with more intelligence than to join some group such as that.

That article is dated 2001 - 4 years ago. By now they would have attempted it and as far as I can tell, nothing has materialized. The concept is scary but their target audience is not their likely-joiners. Talk about wasting postage!

There are definitely some greeks who would join.

I think even if this did happen it fell through the mail chute and into the garbage with the rest of the junk mail at the Fraternity house.

the people on that website represent a SMALL percentage of greeks, one of the people making the comments over there can no longer call himself a greek. besides my guess would be that those people would not have the guts to actually say these things to anyone outside their fraternity.

It just seems creepy; a lot of hate groups have changed their marketing and recruitment strategies to try to attract a more educated and "mainstream"-type audience using things like music, sophisticated websites, and spokesmen who dress nicely and are somehow supposed to be more respectable. Some of the websites that my group reviewed were really slick sites.

Resistance Records sells its highest numbers in the 15 to 30 year old male market; there are reasons that hate groups would think they may have success with fraternities. (If anyone wants to check out the article, there are certain fraternities they are targetting more than others, but I don't want to get into that here.) I mean, it is the kind of population they are looking for - wealthy, upperclass, educated, and white. And fraternities and sororities have traditionally a pretty racially divided group, in some areas and with some orgs more than others. There is a history there.

If this was as old as stated above, maybe it is in the past, We can only hope!

With The Intergration amonst Greek Organizations, I really dont feel there is a prayer in Hell of this ever getting a foot hold!

Most Education Greek Members will look at these type of vermin, they will just laugh at them.

These types of people pray on the uneducated and poor who do not feel that they have a place in life where they are.
