Stupid AARP
Yeah, It happend for me today. I got a letter inviting me to join AARP.
I'm 31. It actually reads: Dear Mr. lifesaver, Our records show you have not yet registered for the benefits of AARP membership, even though you are fully eligible. WTF??? So I called AARP and asked them if membership has now been extended to people in their early 30's. They said no and took me off the list. I asked them to keep me in mind in about 20 years. I knwo my mom was all shocked when she got hers at 50. I cant believe I got mine at 31. Stupid-ass AARP. I cant be getting AARP stuff already. I was at an OAR show two weeks ago. Anyone else get the invite from AARP too early? |
Maybe it is because You Seem So Much More Mature Than You Really Are!!!!!
Hell, I have been getting it for Years! Just ignored it until lately!:) 31, You seem so much Younger!;) |
My parents joined when my dad turned 50 and cancelled their membership shortly before the 2004 election.
AARP is the media wing of the Republican party. |
My parents joined AARP YEARS ago. Like, when I was about 8.
I don't know if they're still members or not. |
My first invitation to join arrived on my 50th birthday. If nothing else, they're efficient.

The AARP South Park was on last night.

Old people are the most overrepresented group in America - it's insane. Down with the AARP!
|
At my weekend job at the nursing home we get buckets full of AARP stuff. It's ridiculuos!

AARP (with the strange exception of the Medicare drug bill, which they backed) is just like the teachers' union - they've never seen a Republican candidate or policy they like. There's a new conservative group for oldsters getting started, and hopefully it will take off. |

So, according to Hoosier, AARP has never seen a Republican program they like, and according to GP they're a wing of the Republican Party.
They must be doing something right. |
Maybe someone signed you up for it as a joke? Every now and then my husband gets some strange things in the mail, and we're fairly certain someone is playing a joke on him and giving out our address.
|
I do that to my brother all the time. When we were little and we'd go to the mall, I'd fill out all sorts of random drawings and sweepstakes with his name. One time, we got a phone call that his name had been drawn for a family ski trip. Unfortunately, he was under 18 at the time, so they picked another winner. But I also sign him up for really weird random stuff, just so he's like "WTF???" The best was probably when I signed him up for a wig catalog. He was like "where the hell did these people get my name and address from?"
