November 2005 Torch
 

Nu Iota is in the TORCH! We have a picture there (Im in the black and purple!) and they BUTCHERED our article. I hate how the TORCH does that... anything we send they decide to add their own 'flair'.

I sent corrections:
-My name is spelled Alison, not Allison. I hate two L's.

-I moved home to Pittsburgh after GRADUATION, not for school.

-Erica is from the area too... but she did move for school.

They make it sound like we are at a college and have this chapter when we do not. Gah. Erica is at Pitt, Jamie is at Duquesne, Steph is at CCAC, but we are NOT a college chapter!

But anyway... check it out! Woot.

So now I have a question. Since this issue is labeled November, does that mean we are going back to getting our issues once a month instead of every other month now? Or do they have no clue as to what is going themselves (internationals)?

Im guessing the latter... since I emailed the torch email about the corrections to the article and she emailed me back - kind of rudely - that she sent the corrections on to the membership department "I ONLY PRINT WHAT THEY GIVE ME"... yes all in caps.

Gah.

Im going to stop my rant here.

That is rude.........and they wonder why members complain.......My question is how is the membership department responsible for what is printed in the Torch? isnt that an Torch department/editing issue?


Not to sound harsh but i think some people at internationals need some management lessons! It sounds to me like this person didnt want to deal with your issue and just passed you on to someone else eventhough it's not their area. Unfortunately this is a common problem in most organizations, business and otherwise :(
