UVA A-Phi
 

Hey all!

I'm currently pledging Alpha Phi at James Madison University. I absolutely love A-Phi here...however, I'm most likely transfering to UVA next year for my sophomore year. My question is, would I be able to stay in APhi at UVA? Who should I talk to about this? Next question...how is the Alpha Phi chapter at UVA?

Talk to your current president or your Chapter Adviser. They'll be able to tell you what steps you'll need to take if you decide to affiliate with the chapter at UVA.

If you want to transfer to an Alpha Phi chapter at your new school I believe you also need to talk to the chapter president and/or chapter advisor at the new school (for you, UVA).

The best way to find the answer to this question is to meet them and see if you "mesh." I am working on a website for UVa. They seem like a great group -- but what Alpha Phi group isn't. ;)

I have heard that the 2 chapters are very different.

i had a friend who transferred from UT-Knoxville to UNC after 2 years and she was a KD at UT-Knoxville. when she got to UNC, she contacted someone associated with the chapter and they allowed her to attend so many meetings and social events without paying dues before deciding if she officially wanted to join with their specific chapter. it worked out because the girls were really cool and she ended up sticking with it.

My cousin transferred to UGA and affiliated with Phi Mu there-- She loved it and is super happy.

One of my classmates in law school went to UVA. He speaks very highly of the Alpha Phi's there.
