Sisterhood!
 

I've just been appointed Sisterhood Co-chair for our Phi Mu Chapter. We're trying to have at least one (non-alcholic) sisterhood event per week. Do any of you have any creative and cute bonding activities that you've used in your chapter successfully? THANKS!

I have soooo Many ideas for sisterhood developement that sometimes they all slip my mind..
here are just some.. email me if u want more ill be glad to help!

at my retreat we did the human knot.. everyone stands in a circle and raises their right hands.. and holds hands with the person directly in front of them.. then u take your left and grab any OTHER persons hand.. this causes a HUGE tangled knot.. it works really well with a large group of girls.. in my phi class there was 19 of us and it took us 25 minutes to get out of it.. our phi mom also made things a little interesting and blindfolded 2 of us and gave one person the responsibility to instruct.. so only one person in the knot could talk at a time.. this really builds ALOT of teamwork and togetherness cause you are all stuck together and laughing at how to get untangeld.. its alot of fun http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

another idea is a sisterhood BBQ..
where u have games like wheelbarrow races.. and team work games like mini mind puzzles.. and things that u can work to put together.. like giving each group a basket of odd things like ribbons and cotton balls, a small box, some crayons, anything weird and tell them they have to work togteher with their partner to make something the represents Phi Mu http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
another thing to do at a BBQ is have a large banner of paper and have everyone write something about Phi Mu and how they contribute to the sisterhood...

some other lil games :
making sisterhood Tye Dye shirts.. this can be messy and fun at the same time!

Get to know u game:
pair everyone off into small groups of even numbers.. tell them to go off to a corner.. they then have to learn how to walk, talk and act like their counterpart.. this helps sisters get to know each other better and maybe learn something they didnt know about a sister..

Self Esteem Books
give everyone a small notebook and tell them to decorate it in any way with their name, etc..(or u can decorate them all at the same time) then at a meeting or sisterhood event pass the books around and have each other sister write something nice about them and something they like about them.. it helps show that you are loved and appreciated by your sisters...
you can also do this with white Tshirts that everyone writes on.. or a large colorful posterboard decorated for each sister..

non-alcoholic mixers
 

We have all kinds of non-alcholic mixers. We've had water gun war, a goodwill ball (we dressed in goodwill clothes and gave awards for the best outfits), an ice cream social, etc. TN Tech doesn't allow for much alcholic mixers. We do the best w/ what we can.

A movie night with a theme, like Chick Flicks or Scary Movies. Bowling and pizza, Be a Kid Again (playdoh, kiddy games, food to go with), paintball with a fraternity or another sorority. Getting together to go camping or just summer to see starts, roast marshmallows (we went to see the Northern Lights)

We have quite a few girls who work for MaryKay, etc... so we have "Pampered in Pink Parties" Good for them ($) and good for us as far as sisterhood goes...
We also have one night a week when we all get together to watch some show (Sex in the City, Friends, etc) but this is mostly during Fall Semester when we are trying to meet the freshmen--They come over, too.
