Who's ready for the kickoff tomorrow night of the new season, I know I have been anxiously waiting! :D


Any predictions for the upcoming season?

I personally think that my Spurs have it in them to win yet another national championship, but who knows? Anything can happen! :)

The 76ers will suck. They will be lucky to go .500.

If Chris Webber can get it together, they might go higher than .500.


I'm looking forward to the Cavs doing well this season.

They will win between 49- 52 games this year.

Larry Hughes and Lebron are a solid combo. Hughes is an underrated defender on top of his scoring. An outside shooter would be nice, but they've still got some sort of team over there.

People around here are cautiously optimistic about the Celtics. Al Jefferson could be a beast, although he was hurt early in training camp and is getting a late start. The signing of Brian Scalabrine was as puzzling a pick-up as you're going to see, especially for that money. Marcus Banks will probably be on his way out of town, but I honestly don't see Paul Pierce going anywhere.

The Clippers look solid.

LA having two playoff teams could be a real possibility.

I don't know if the Kings can make it this year, but then I seen stranger things happen during the season.

I'm somewhat worried about the Heat. How is it that Shaq Diesel Daddy only got 12 points against mediocre Memphis centres? :mad: But at least Dwyane Wade was himself, and Employee No. 8 (Antoine Walker) was solid.

But out here, the news is that Ko***** hit the game winner and now the L.A. talk shows will be in delirium.

My Grizzlies will get it together. We should have shopped for a good center during the off season.:mad:

They didn't have much of a need for Carmelo at the time because they were sold on Tayshaun Prince but Chrish Bosh would have been a nice pickup at that spot.

True, Bosh is a stud, but where would they have played him? He wouldn't have replaced Sheed or Ben Wallace.

I'm wondering if he'll suddenly become a player in Orlando, or whether the guy really isn't that good. Talk out of Detroit camp is that he gave no effort in practice and had basically given up. Maybe a change of scenery will do him good.

I am officially addicted to the Nuggets -- it just sort of happened.

I hope we keep Kmart.

ETA: Earl Boykins is BAD ASS. Dude is shorter than I am and plays in the NBA. That rocks.

Same was said about Darko, but hey they did it. I wanted them to get Anthony but they were adament that they wouldn't need him although they are still thin at that position now. Bosh could have played the Antonio McDyess role at the very least and gave the Wallaces a break. Come to think of it, I am pretty sure Rasheed was a midseason acquistion for them after that years draft so Sheed was never in the picture at that time.

I didn't like the Darko pick from day one but have had a wait and see attitude with him up until this year. He had every opportunity to get into the playing rotation and couldn't. Luckily for them they were able to take a big gamble like this while having a good three year run at the title. Hopefully for his sake a change of scenery does him good. Brown has a history of messing with young players and it could have been that his confidence was shot.

That's true, I forgot when they acquired Sheed. It's interesting that they made the Darko pick with Brown as coach; as you said, his history with younger players isn't so great (which is funny when he has coached at UCLA and Kansas). Either way, the kid was a huge gamble, and they lost.

Now they have the cash to do long-term deals with their free agents this summer, and maybe that pick will turn into something.
