In this thread, we complain about Standard Time

WAH! It's 4:15 and already getting dark outside. I HATE IT!

kansas13 10-31-2005 06:50 PM

You know I always hated daylight savings time...until I had to wake up at 6:00 in the morning for work and drive almost 45 minutes in the dark there. I woke up today and I thought I overslept because it was so light outside. While I do kind of get bummed that it gets dark so early, it beats fighting myself to stay awake while I am driving to work...and that's a dangerous combo. :)

I was very happy this morning when it was bright and sunny going to work. Better than dark going and dark coming home. Won't last for long though!

Its easier to get up for class

bcdphie 10-31-2005 08:08 PM

It was nice to get up at 7 this morning and see it was light out. But it gets dark around 5 now, (and it's raining today so it will be even darker), so my commute home won't be so enjoyable.

Standard Time sucks

That is all.

JenMarie 10-31-2005 08:58 PM

I was just surprised to see the sun up completely at 7 am... I guess I can forget walking home in the afternoon though...

ZTAMich 10-31-2005 09:06 PM

I'd rather go home in daylight than wake up to the blazing sun at 7am!!

If you cant handle the switchover, you really shouldnt be allowed to drive, work or use the phone.

Dude, you practically live in Mexico...up here, where we're almost in Canada, it's not that it's difficult, it's that it sucks.

AchtungBaby80 11-01-2005 08:11 PM

I just don't like it 'cause it means wintertime is coming. :(

ms_gwyn 11-01-2005 08:20 PM

I really don't mind it all that much...I will adjust in a few days...besides it starts getting lighter again in a few weeks, if you really think about it.....

But if you really messes you up...move to AZ or (I think its still in effect) parts of IN...

Yea I hate driving during dusk

AGDee 11-01-2005 10:04 PM

It won't start getting lighter until after December 21st. It's really winter that sucks rather than the time. The days get so short eventually that you're driving to work in the dark and coming home in the dark and that just makes you feel like hibernating.

My only problem with changing the time is that the DOG can't tell time. She has this stupid biological clock which now thinks that it's breakfast time at 4 am instead 5 am. She comes in my room and starts howling at me wayyyyyyyyyyy too early. In a week or two, I'll have her adjusted though.

Good point. Even on the shortest day of the year, the sun only sets here at 5:45 PM.

I am never up early enough to see what time it rises. I did hear it was up around 7:00AM at that time of year.
