wondering

hello everyone I am not trying to offend anyone i just have a quick question. I was wondering about my campus involvement and community service. I am in two non greek organ. on my campus and one is an honor organ. I was wondering do I need to seek addition community service. If you can't answer this I will understand completely.

Babygirl,

I really don't think asking questions about membership is appropriate in this forum. Read the POW, visit the AKA website for information regarding membership in their organization. Just givin' ya some advice. I'm sure the board moderators will come along and tell ya the same thing.

Good luck in your pursuit and be blessed.

I won't be so quick to lock this one up. I'll let 2D do that. :p Only because I have some questions as far as clarifications for members (of any org) who may want to email/PM you privately. And also because community service is important and NOT just for seeking membership into a sorority or fraternity.

You say you are involved in two non-greek orgs and clarified one being an honor org, but you didn't say what the other was for. So we don't know if you are doing ANY service to be able to say yes you should or no you shouldn't seek other community service opps. You should be doing community service because you WANT to, because you see a need, because you feel moved to give of your self and your time, etc., NOT because it will look good when applying for membership into the organization of your choice.

On Russ Parr this morning, they were talking about sororities and fraternities, and I just didn't like what I heard. Are our undergrads really joining for the sake of belonging to something? Or are they doing it because they want a network of sisters and brothers with whom they can do service and uplift our community? Food for thought...
