Ironic Story....thanks NC AZD's!
Sooooo.....since I know most of the sisters on here I thought I'd share this story (a couple might roll there eyes at this one 'cause they've heard it 5 times).
About 3 weeks ago I got an email from "the one that got away." :( He and I dated while I was in chapter and his experience with our chapter changed his perspective on sorority's. I was CLVP trying to become Pres, which eventually happened, but he had great respect for our girls and they loved him too. Anyway, we didn't make it though college as a couple, but we've kept up over the years to see how we were (6-7 yrs).....found out last year that he had been married for about 2 years (even though I expected he would be, I was still devestated after all these years). Anyway, a few months ago he went out with a group of guys from his platoon (he's a Marine) and started dancing with this girl...she brought him back to her table of friends who happened to be sorority sisters. He asked which sorority???? Alpha Xi Delta!!!! :D He had a good laugh and explained that he knew a group of crazy Xi's back home! This run in with our sisters prompted him to email me after a year to share the story and ask "oh by the way how are you doing?" His news....he is getting out of the Corps in 3 months and is in the process of a divorce (I do feel sad about this...ok kinda! For him yes, for her...not so much. Bad Trish! Very VERY bad Trish!!!). I haven't asked what school the AZD's were from in North Carolina, but I should and then send a fat donation to Foundation in their honor!!!! All I can say is AMEN for my letters and a group of sisters out dancing!! Needless to say.....I was thankful to be a Xi when I heard that story! Heeheehee!!! And, yes, we are still communicating, though, very causually. |
Yay for you! Even though I'm married and I love my husband, I have those thoughts sometimes about the 'one that got away'. I always wonder what he's doing and if he's happy etc. etc. Glad you were able to get in touch and you never know what will happen....:)

Sorry to crash but I'm browsing tonight, lol.
Trish, let's meet and I can tell you mine and hubby's story..there's hope!!:D |
That's 'cause NC AXiDs ROCK! :D
|
YEAH!!! Now you know you have to keep us updated!! And let us know what chapter that was if you ever find out.
Hope everything works out for you!!! LITBOS!! |
Though I haven't confirmed it, I believe it is Zeta Chi - in Wilmington. Apparently that's where the guys go if they want to go out. I actually spoke to him on the phone recently.....after 4 YEARS! We are meeting for lunch in December when he is back for the holidays.....I can't WAIT for December!! Hahaha! Here's an interesting tidbit....he wants to reenlist as a recruiter and try to get assigned about 20 miles away (near his parents). It will be nice to reconnect after all this time.....simply to just see how he is. Not to mention I'm a sucker for a uniform, so I am hopeful he will be wearing it!

Awe thats so awesome...Carolina girls, best in the world! Especially if they are AXiDs! :)

AXiD's from Carolina are the best!!!! (obviously i am bias- I went to Elon)
|
AXiDTrish,
Did you meet him for lunch? |
Don't I wish, but no. I would have loved to catch up and see what type of man he has grown into. I haven't heard from him since the end of November.
The last we spoke, he was reenlisting as a recruiter (pardon if I'm restating) and could possibly move back to Atlanta for his duty station, but I'm not sure what he decided.....if he was accepted as a recruiter, then he would be starting training soon....if not, then his EAS date would be in 6 short days. Haha...I have Mel Gibson in my head yelling freedom! Oye, long day! Kinda sad, though....I would have liked to catch up. I figure if he comes back to Atlanta I'll hear from him sooner or later. In the meantime, NC AZD's still rock in my book!!! |
OMG!!! I'm a sister of the zeta chi chapter of Alpha Xi Delta.... hahaha. that sounds like my sisters!
