Chatting in Greek
Or, as they maybe say over there,
"Chi eta alpha tau tau iota nu gamma / iota nu / gamma rho epsilon epsilon kappa!" Anyways, I will hopefully go to Greece this summer for an art history Maymester! :D So I was doing some research to learn a little of the language beforehand (so that I can learn it better while I'm there, since Maymesters are only a few weeks). Check out this site, Filoglossia! Here is the ALPHAbet (haha). They show you how to write the letters and you can hear them pronounced! Sa-weet! :D (sigma alpha - omega epsilon epsilon tau!) |

That's a nice site. Thanks.
If you'd like to practice Greek, find an authentic Greek restaurant near you & chat with the staff. Or, see if there's a Greek Orthodox church near you, and find out if they're having a Greek Festival. You can practice your "efharistos" and "parakalos" there! ;) BTW, a GCer went to Greece several months ago. You should PM her: enigma_AKA Keep us posted! Annie (yes, I'm really Greek) |
Thanks, Annie! :D
