How do Zeta's feel about double membership?

How do all Zeta's feel if a girl was in a Hispanic sorority and tried to be on line with the Zeta's because she didn't feel like the previous sorority wasn't right for her?

I am not sure about how ALL Zeta's feel, but I am curious to know if that is even possible? While I know the Hispanic sororities are not a part of the NPHC, I would imagine this would still be a no-no as these are not usually "social" or "Christian" fellowships that do not interfere with membership. It seems like it would be a conflict.

Thanks for the input, what would you do?

i'm not sure i understand what you are asking when you say "what would you do?"

This Zeta would vote "nay" on that situation. Membership in Zeta is by invitation only to women who have not held membership in similiar greek letter organizations. :D

exactly... it seems to me like someone who is already a member of a Hispanic sorority, should KNOW that it's not possible to become a member of a BGLO at that point...

this Zeta is gonna have to say da nay-no on that...

This situation seems to be a growing one...I know that the undergrads that my Grad chapter advise had the same situation. I feel that you choose a sorority ( hispanic or other wise) that is you one and only choice....

Since Hispanic sororities are not part of NPHC, the young lady does have an opportunity to be a Zeta and in her Hispanic sorority.

Tell your friend do not tell anyone she wants to be a Zeta because she felt her other sorority is not right for her. That is a no no. Sororities are made up of people no sorority is perfect. What the chapter is going through might be temporary difficulties. Instead of running away from the problem, I recommend that she try to find away to improve it.

If she believes Zeta is right for her, than I say pursue it. But please tell her not to abandon her first sorority. She will find the time to do both if she is fortunate enough to become a Zeta.

I believe that she should get a chance. Hispanic sororities aren't part of the NPHC, so this is not illegal. I mean, damn, what's so wrong with changing your mind? Folks change their mind about jobs, schools, marriages, and whateva.

Strive what ARE you talking about? A social org is a social org and she made her decision when she joined the first org.

Highly inappropriate to discuss these kinds of topics

Membership specifics should be directed to the chapter you are seeking to become a member of...or you might get your face cracked. Yes there are rules and the most important one anyone interested in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. should be concerned with is the one that gives her members the right to choose potential candidates. Remember no invite...means no membership. So if you are in 3 social and academic Sororities/fraternities that are non-nphc it does n't matter...if in the end you have no invitation.

All social org are not the same. Besides, there are some Zetas who are Eastern Stars.
It's not our place to prevent her friend from pursuing Zeta. Pursuing Zeta does not guarantee her friend membership.
