Okay ladies - put your thinking caps on...

HOW CAN NU IOTA GET MEMBERS?

We have already worked on friends - most are too busy or not interested or think they wont have time.

What can we do?

Ideas! Our numbers are dwindling and morale stinks...

Before i started to recruit new members, I would look at the chapter and find out why morale "stinks." If this is a serious problem, then you'lll have trouble keeping any newbies you get.

So I would try to build up sisterhood bonds first and correct internal problems before recruiting new members. Just my two cents.

Morale stinks because every rush fizzles when no one shows up.

We all get along great and love hanging out... but theres 4 of us here - one 5 hours away.

We're small. Id like to even see us get to 8 members - 15 is ideal, but 8 would be ... great!

Alison's right

Hi Ladies,
There really aren't internal problems..we're all rock solid with one another..it's really just a matter of getting interested people. We have low morale because we've invited quite a few people and no one ever shows up...I even have a pledge who paid but has never come to a meeting since! I've tried calling her..Alison's tried and she never calls us back...isn't that weird? Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Ali, can you send me some information about BSP or point me to a good place to find info to learn more about it? I think you and I may have briefly discussed it awhile ago, but my life has been so insane. Hopefully it's settling down now that i'm graduated and passed the bar (and hoping to have a *real* attorney job after the next shareholders' meeting at the firm i'm working for).

Well one thing we've done in my chapter this year is that we have decided not to actively recruit. We'll take new members that are friends of ours but not active recruitment through city council, etc. We are a small group as well with only 9 members. I talk about BSP so much my friend that I carpool with to my nursing clinical this semester is interested in coming to a meeting and seeing what it's all about. So I'll try to recruit her because she is a friend of mine, but it's not an "active" recruitment like we did in the past or how i was contacted and recruited basically. Does that make sense?

Structured recruitment for any kind of group is always hard work and can be quite frustrating. Goodluck with it!

Well see, Nu Iota was started by me... and how I started it was I asked all of my friends to join.

Any other friends are not interested... Ive tried.

So Ive run out of friends.

So have other sisters...

. . . and I live five hours away. Friends I have here are not interested in driving five hours for Beta (no matter how awesome it is). I feel badly that I can't help do more with recruitment!
