Thank God those girls are finally telling what really happened.

Hopefully something will come of it... even after 2 years.

Wow.. I'm so glad after so long the former pledges are telling the truth. Shame on the the "sisters" for trying to influence their earlier reports to the authorities. Seriously.. it's not The Skulls or anything.

I hope those responsible will be convicted.

I agree.. but I know these girls personally.. as a matter of fact, Kelly Nester (the girl killed) and Shannon McNally (her best friend) are/were good friends of mine.

The "sisters" of SKO are rediculously intimidating and most of the "pledges" were freshmen. Also, Shannon and Kelly were friends with the "sisters" prior to pledging.. so that is a factor ("ratting" on your "Friends"). While I can see why they would attempt to cover for their "friends".. its about darn time they realize its not doing any good.

I agree.. I hope that those 3 girls are convicted and pay for taking away an amazing young woman and great friend.

Yea I can definitely see that since they were friends before and why that might have influenced their previous statements to the authorites.

I'm also very glad that they have finally came out and told the truth.

Do you know if the school is doing anything to crack down on the behavior of this sorority? If this sorority remains an organization, something needs to be done (as far as their behavior towards the pledges) to prevent another tragedy like this in the future.

The sorority is no longer... and the school eliminated all support to all Greeks shortly after. Now, nobody is recognized by the school. Even my chapter of Delta Zeta (eventhough we have a clean track record.)

All organizations are up for rerecongnition by the university in 2009 (...I think '09 - maybe '08?)

Wow. It's sad to see they pulled recognition from every GLO. :(

Did the National Offices pull charters also?

ASA closed before the University withdrew recognition. DZ is still there and their chapter is there. I don't know about the fraternities.

For this school to withdraw recognition and make everything a basic "Wild West" where none of the GLOs have any rules to follow (except their nationals', but many of them don't have nationals) is ridiculous and shows the stupidity of the people who are/were running the Greek Life and student activities office.

So, Most are not Nationals but Locals?

As I said above about Alfred, There is a College of Nothing but Locals that are turning to Nationals.

Oh, it is In Ga!

As far as the girls covering for each other:

"If I had to choose between betraying my country and betraying my friend, I hope I should have the guts to betray my country." -- E. M. Forster

The article says that the case will go to trial in August, but the article was written October 9th.

Is that a mistake or are they talking about next August?

Tom - there is a mix, some were recognized locals and some were unrecognized (even before the uni did this). PlymouthDZ would know better than I would.

No - DZ Nat'l HQ is behind us 110%.

Since then though Sig Tau has been pulled nationally.
