A particular snippet I found interesting..

Brown is still being paid as a consultant to help FEMA assess what went wrong.

WTF? I have worked in non-proft governmental affairs before and this is actually pretty common. Its like a severance package if someone was let go for political reasons. But what I dont understand is that congress has subpoena powers, so why is he being paid to testify about what went wrong? Maybe his payment goes longer than the testomonial period (the article doesnt say). I dunno. But dont understand.

It was a cluster Fu*k form the get go and no one was prepared in any shape or form, Correct?

Oh, La. Folks had no idea and didnt know how to handle it and the blame goes on doesnt it?

Now, They as Poloticians will learn something without Congress sitting on their fat asses saying Oh why didnt You do this?:rolleyes:

Ask Why the Coast Guard had Budget Cut, FEMA moved into Home Security and Budet Cut. Granted this Rube, Brown had no damn idea but was there and was a dick wad to the NTH!

Shit, it is nothing but a damn band aid, boondoggle or pork barrel working at its best.

Oh, No, We didnt do this without compromising with our fellow Legislatures giving the okay!:mad:

This guy either has a huge ego, or really believes that he did a good job, but was hindered by the "locals."

Louisiana has had a long time reputation (I'm not making charges, here, just repeating what has been taken for truth) for corruption and inefficiency.

On the other hand, FEMA didn't seem to do much better in the other Katrina affected areas either.

It will be interesting to see what these hearings conclude.
