Happy Johnny Appleseed day
 

i am totally going to wear a pot on my head all day long... Happy Johnny Appleseed day... it was actually yesterday, but the school here is celebrating it today

Which explains why MysticCat Jr was talking about Johnny Appleseed at supper last night and had homework about him.

And here I was not even knowing there was a Johnny Appleseed day.

Ah well. Celebrate and eat some apples.

I didn't know that there was a Johnny Appleseed Day, either! I did just recently hear that he not only spread apple seeds, he was a pastor who spread "other" seeds!

And, that many of the trees which grew from his seeds are either still alive, or their "progeny" is! So, if you're in the PA>OH>IN>IL area and eat an apple, it was probably originally from Johnny Appleseed! :)

My son is celebrating this at school-- which reminds me- i have to buy apples for the class!!

yap hes was a trained minister who just took off for the midwest and planted rows of trees all by himself so when settlers moved out there they would have food to live off of. He also talked to animals...

How do you like them apples?

well that's just cool - he went through my area of ohio and some of his trees and land were donated to the state park system...
i really like apples!
