Update on NWMSU Colonization

Alpha Delta Pi recently colonized a new chapter at Northwest Missouri State University! Through a separate recruitment week, we pledged 82 new Alpha members (the maximum number allowed by the Panhellenic on campus). Throughout the next couple of months, these Alpha members will go through the Alpha Education process. They will also go through a tremendous amount of organizational development, as all 82 members are brand-new to ADPi and will have to develop into a cohesive chapter! The Alpha members will be initiated on November 12 and the colony will be installed as Theta Alpha chapter of Alpha Delta Pi that same weekend.

We are asking all existing Alpha Delta Pi chapters to help welcome this colony into the Alpha Delta Pi family in one of two ways:

Sending a congratulatory note to them from your chapter.
Sending a few extra t-shirts from one of your chapter?s events to them. As all of their members are brand-new to ADPi, I know they would appreciate receiving a jump-start on wearing Alpha Delta Pi clothing on campus. (If you do send t-shirts, please be sure that they are appropriate t-shirts.)

Please send your notes and/or extra t-shirts to the Northwest colony no later than October 21 so they can immediately begin feeling a part of the ADPi family!

The colony can be reached at the following address:

Bryan D. VanOsdale
Northwest Missouri State University
Jones Union 2240
800 University Drive
Maryville, MO 64468
Attn: Erin O?Donnell, Alpha Delta Pi

Our 82 new sisters are so excited to be part of Alpha Delta Pi. Thank you in advance for any support you can give them to show them how welcomed they are into Alpha Delta Pi!

I think we can do this... Sisters?

How about anything other than t-shirts & notes?

MiamiADPi 09-26-2005 09:54 PM

I'm so excited for them!! Having been a founding member of Gamma Delta's recolonization last year, I remember all the support we received and how nice it felt to be welcomed into the Alpha Delta Pi sisterhood. In just one short year (well, on Nov. 20th it'll be a year) we have come so far and have such a strong presence on campus, I'm sure that NWMSU will do just as well if not better! I'll pass the word on to our President. --- Congratulations to these 82 new Alphas!!

**Little sidenote-- are any nearby chapters doing a "Long Distance Diamond Sister" program with them? Last year we were paired with Deltas from other Florida chapters and they were a huge help. A decent amount of my sisters still keep in touch with theirs. :)

Miami ADPi- you're right -the Gamma Delta colonization was a HUGE success- and an amazing experience for me to be at the installation and help conduct the initiation for all of you :)

I do know that there are actually several MO and KS chapters near NWMSU and I think they are doing the similar Diamond Sister program but I'll pass the information along to make sure!!!

I may be an alum but I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to help them out by being a long distance Diamond Sister. Is there someone I can contact to find out if this is an option?

I'm gonna have to go out and find an awesome card to send the lovely ladies. :D

I'm gonna see what I can do, but I'll definitely send a card at least.
Forgive my ignorance, but the address is really long...and slightly confusing to me. Who exactly are we sending this stuff to?

As I understand- Bryan is the Greek Advisor- and Erin O'Donnell is the Leadership Consultant parked at the colonization for most of the semester- Erin will then figure out the best way to hand out items received... this is how it was done at Miami and worked very well!

Thanks for the update and congratulations to ADPi on a successful expansion. All the best to our newest sisters

ETA: Are they being housed in a house, residence hall or suite? Do they need any house items?

The collegians in Missouri and Kansas have been asked to be diamond sisters and are volunteering now for this unique opportunity.

My chapter is already working on sending tshirts.:)

OMG these girls are probably getting so excited. Initiation is like 3 1/2 weeks away.

How fun!!!!

Our President asked at Chapter for items that we could send to them and also for anyone who wanted to be Diamond Sisters for them. :)

11 days and counting until our newest chapter sisters are initiated and we have Theta Alpha!!!!!!

Does anyone know how our other colony is doing? (the one that when they are initiated would be Theta Beta).
