NEED lots of help..
 

Due to certain people slacking off, Rush is not going as planned this semester. It seems as though the other main sororities are having absolutly no problem getting girls. Rush is doing everything we can think of right now, flyers everywhere, weve throw 2 campus parties, have had many rush events at sisters houses.. This is my first year on Rush, and i want to make some huge changes but i dont have much to model off of.. so if anyone has any input for me that would be great :)

If I were you, I'd start by talking to your chapter advisor. She may have some suggestions, and she can put you in touch with people on the regional or national level who can help.

Have you already had fall formal recruitment, or do you have deferred recruitment?

Be careful with the postering, as it can come across as desperation. Women are more likely to respond to a personal invitation, so ask each sister to think of 1 or 2 unaffiliated women and personally invite them to your rush events.

Wear letters around campus, and be visible...

First, I'm new to this, sorry, I started last week without saying hello.
I was a member of a house at a commuter school, know trying to hold rush there can be very hard, and at the graduate level assisted the Greek life advisor while an intern. I'm going back to school, more grad work, aim to finish this time.

Rush ideas: how well do you know the guys/girls in your house, the bigger, the more out of touch you might not know. Do they surf (as in ocean), mountain bike, ski, or shopacholics? A good way to connect with rushees is to share common connections. In a rush planning party, go around the room and discuss interests, you might be surprised.
Same with summer and part time work: I've sold bikinis, been a camp counselor and been a messenger for a bank. Asking if rushees have had interesting/odd jobs can get the conversation going.

Does your house interior/exterior need a facelift? If being in the house or looking at it makes you feel its dated, then think of what rushees are thinking. Are the interior colors frozen in the 80s, 70s? Have the house reflect we want folks to live here. Paint and slip covers really don't cost that much.

Do the public areas of your house look like a doctor's office? Sure, they might be spit polished clean, but do they reflect your sorority/fraternity?
Are members of your house art majors---show their work.
Are they in plays--hang photos of their performances.
They can serve as conversation starters and show how well-rounded you are.
Cheerleaders and homecoming queens are great to have in your house, but strive to reflect the interests of members.
