A letter to Beta @ Vandy alumni
 

Saw a letter today from the District Chief for Beta to all alumni of the Vandy chapter.

He says the chapter is in trouble, and the house is to be "absolutely dry" until at least Nov. 1.

The gist of the letter is to tell the alumni planning to return for Homecoming in Oct. to not bring or expect booze at the house. The chapter is sponsoring the Beta BBQ for the Cure at Homecoming, but you won't be getting a beer with your 'cue.

What's the point?

Thinking the same thing.

Our District Chief's write letters all the time. Matter-a-fact, I got one this morning??!!!??

You might be able to enlighten us a little...

It sounds like the chapter has some issues that the fraternity is aware of and that they have to be particularly careful at this point in time?

Yeah, just by the post, I'd assume that the chapter has some issues, and the District Chief is posing some sort of sanctions on the chapter - IE, no booze.

Letter's like that go out all the time, from all fraternities and sororities.

But, my question is, what's the point in this thread?

I think he was telling the alumni not to expect booze or to bring booze to the chapter house at Homecoming.

This was a letter to the alumni, not to the chapter - which is on the verge of major trouble with VU.

I think it shows that the Betas have a good and active Dist. Chief in the area, and the natl. was willing to pay the postage to distribute the letter. I like both of them.
