RECRUITERS (and everyone else)

I'm looking for a cost-effective way to advertise a job for a plumber in the Charlotte area. I've looked into small town newspapers (Monroe, Gaston Cty), CharlotteHelpWanted.com, Monster.com (waaay too expensive for a small company like ours), Employmentguide.com, Creative Loafing

Does anyone else have any good ideas?

P.S. The Charlotte Observer is NOT cost effective and we end up with a bunch of nutjobs in our office.

What about contacting the local plumbers union?

The problem is that Craig's list isn't very popular in Charlotte yet. I hadn't even heard of it until GC.

I don't know if you can get plumbers through Adecco. Give it a whirl. I know there's one in Gastonia (it deals with more of what you're looking for) and on on Tryon (this one deals with more office type jobs).

Also try The Clover Herald, Fort Mill Times, The Rock Hill Herald, Lake Wylie Pilot. I don't know what the York newspaper is but York County is close enough to Charlotte.

Have you tried any trade unions or associations for contractors or plumbers? Many of them have resume banks or an on-line posting system. What about the boards at Home Depot and Lowes?
