Jillian Bandes (left) wrote in Tuesday's "Licensed to Jill" column in the UNC-Chapel Hill Daily Tar Heel: "I want all Arabs to be stripped naked and cavity-searched if they get within 100 yards of an airport. I don’t care if they’re being inconvenienced. I don’t care if it seems as though their rights are being violated." She was fired on Wednesday. "I wanted to get people talking," she says. "I did that. It also got me fired."

I don't think she should be fired. She is a dumb ass though. Out of curiosity, does college newspaper pay their reporters?

My college's paper paid students, and paid quite nicely.

Well besides being racial insensitive, okay just plain stupid, the major reason she was fired was for misleading sources... and for playing fast and loose with quotes from sources (ie. editing them to make them say what she wanted).

She was the one that also wrote a scathing article on sororities (NOT the sororistute article tho)

Oooooh... let's string her up - or at least subject her to her own suggestions ;)

After reading what she did, it was right that she's fired.
