2005 Emmy Awards

Anyone else planning to watch? I'm watching the preshow on HD right now.

Taualumna 09-18-2005 09:24 PM

I'm watching it right now. I missed the first hour and a half because I was out at dinner. I just caught Patricia Arquette and I think her hair looks...ummm....weird...

Awww poor Kristin Bell almost got dropped on her ass.

AOIIalum 09-18-2005 09:58 PM

I saw that and thought she recovered well from the almost drop. I was surprised that she could sing, too.

I never loved Raymond.

William H. Macy was ROBBED!

Love all of the gorgeous chocolate brown gowns.

I still haven't seen Jennifer Garner Affleck once tonight. Anyone else? Thank heavens that E! and whichever HD channel aired the preshow stuff tend to rerun the arrival and post-shows to death the following week.

John Stewart's pre-taped response to the government handling of Hurricane Katrina was funny.

She sung a bit on Veronica Mars and was also in the off-broadway and screen version of Reefer Madness singing. I think she did really well tonight.

I saw her right at the end of the pre-show on E!. I thought she looked really good.

Not a household name, but for we TV production guys...congratulations to Bucky Gunts who won for best direction of a special (Olympic Opening Ceremony). He also directed the TODAY Show for a while. I've known him for years. Great guy.

A college classmate of mine won the same category a few years back.

You'll never see them on the Red Carpet, but it's neat to see your counterparts win big.

It was kinda blaaaah this yr. No real excitement to it at all and you saw a lot of glitches and mishaps more so than other yrs. I did love Felicity Huffman's acceptance speech!:)

I didn't watch but was stunned that Jeremy Piven did not win for his role on Entourage. He is genius!!!

So glad Raymond is gone, because I didn't love him (or his co-stars) either.

I thought this was cool.

"LOST" wins and the shakas come out.

Looooved Doris Roberts gettin' down with the Black Eyed Peas. Could have done without Donald Trump and Green Acres though.

I was bummed that Quinten Tarantino didn't win for Best Directing. He should have gotten it for Grave Danger. But considering I'm a huge CSI fan I'm kind of biased.

What was with the girl singing "The Jeffersons" song (sorry, I don't know who she is - I'm old.) She seemed to be drunk or something; she was just weaving around and the guy (don't know him either) seemed to be holding her up.

AOIIalum 09-20-2005 09:27 PM

That was Macy Grey, and I think she always looks/acts like that? I love her voice for some reason, but she's an interesting character for sure.

tinydancer 09-20-2005 09:56 PM

I see! I had not seen her before, so I couldn't be sure.
