Dallas - Christmas Expo

I'm moving to Dallas (Plano) in a couple of weeks. I'm on the Dallas-area mailing list and I've been reading about the Christmas Expo (not sure it thats the exact name) that the Chi-O alumnae sponser every year. Just curious on the types of items and/or events that are at the expo. Is it a craft fair, do local businesses sell items, a combination of both? I would like to check it out, but I just wanted to know a little more about it. It sounds like a really big expo. I thought volunteering may be a good way to meet people, but I wasn't sure on the process for this, etc. And if any Dallas area alumnae are on this board, I would really appreciate any advice and/or info you can give me about the Alumnea chapter and just Dallas in general. Feel free to pm me. Thanks.

And where are my manners........I should have introduced myself a long time ago. I pledged Fall 92 (initiated Jan 93) at UT-Chattanooga.

Sorry to crash, but since I went to the Chi Omega Christmas Mart today, thought I'd put in my 2 cents.

It is an amazing event, and I attend every year. There are so many wonderful merchants with a wide variety of gourmet foods, jewelry, toys and clothing. It is very well attended (and yes, I ran into at least four members of my Pi Phi alumnae club there) and well publicized (TV and radio coverage as well as special sections in the newspaper). I get a significant portion of my holiday shopping done-- and of course, the shopping bag is sent to my Chi O niece in Ohio.

I'm sure that an undertaking like this takes a lot of preparation and many volunteers. I'm not a Chi O, but I do live in Plano so PM me if you want any information on the area!

Thanks for the report, Karen! Glad you had a great time & happy that the event was a success.

I went to the Expo yesterday and it was great. I found a couple of stocking stuffers for Christmas. There was a variety of merchandise to choose from.

Well done ladies. I was proud to call myself a Chi Omega. :)
