Need Help with Digital Pictures
Okay, so Mr. AXiD670 and I got a new digital camera. I've uploaded some pics from the camera to my computer and have realized that they are HUGE. How do I resize them once they're on my computer?
Thanks! |
It's actually good that they're huge - you can always reduce images, but you can't blow them up without ruining the quality. There are a lot of different ways that you can resize the images. The software that you use to upload the images might have the ability to do this. Adobe Photoshop is great, if you have that. In Photoshop, you just select "Image -> Image Size" and type in the size you want. If the "Constrain Proportions" box is checked (and it should be by default), then it will preserve the image's original proportions. You might also want to crop the image. If you don't have Photoshop, GIMP is also good and free (see http://www.gimp.org).

Photoshop Elements is the cheaper version of Photoshop and can resize images.
I would think that the software that was included with your camera would come with SOME sort of photo editing program though. Double check it. |
What type of computer do you have?
If you're using a mac, iPhoto has a "size" option that you can use while exporting. For windows, I would recommend using the software that comes with the digital camera (adobe photoshop is too expensive for just resizing photos/basic photo editing) |
