Fever Pitch DVD

Seriously. As if Red Sox fans aren't already annoying enough, with all their whining about curses and now the emergence of 'fans' all over the country, who the hell would pay to sit and watch 2 hours of it? Almost as bad as the amount of bandwagon Cubs fans(which I don't understand, if you're gonna bandwagon a team, at least bandwagon a good one).

So, yeah, none of that has to do with this movie particularly, just a vent.

YAY! I love being told I'm annoying!

And I still haven't seen this moving but I really want to.

I don't think it's necessarily something unique to Red Sox fans. How many kids all over the country had Dallas Cowboys jackets when they were winning? How about Chicago Bulls jerseys when Jordan and the Bulls were big?

Maybe it's because I've lived in New England my whole life, but fans of the Red Sox have gone through a whole different type of suffering over the years. There was 1986 of course (after an equally improbable comeback against the Angels in the ALCS), but there was also 1948, 1949, 1975, 1978 and 2003. There were the names of Babe Ruth, Aaron Boone, Billy Rohr, Bill Buckner and others that have haunted fans throughout the years. To me, when it came to true Red Sox fans, it was never "whining;" it was always genuine frustration of being so good for so long but never quite being great.

I don't see any problem with it; I actually heard the movie is pretty decent, although I'd like to read the book as well.

ETA: I'm a Yankees fan and I'm still not annoyed by all of it; I'm happy that so many true fans finally got to see their team win.

Yeah I didn't see in it the theatre, so I need to add it to my Netflix list.

As a native Bostonian and a Sox fan I was super excited to see this movie and I must say I was very disappointed in it. The first part of the movie was good then after awhile I lost interest...thumbs down from me

oh shut up Nooshieburger. YOu are a bostonianburbian. Thats like claiming I'm from COmpton when I'm really from Anaheim.

Don't even consider getting me that damn movie for Christmas. Not even as a gag gift. You may just get shot.

Seriously, Jimmy Fallon needs to get shot. This douche is NOt funny at all, and he is a pyscho wannabee of Adam Sandler. I mean shiet, look who he even grabbed to star in the movie? Drew "I was in rehab when I was 8" Berrymore.

Screw you Jimmy Fallon!

It was actually a fun romantic comedy. There was enough romance for the women watching and enough baseball to make it worthwhile to the men . . .

I personally liked the movie.

As for the Red Sox fans, hello it's called jumping on the bandwagon. The same thing happened out here when the Diamondbacks won the 2001 world series. Suddenly the 02 season was packed. But these kind of fans are usually fickle. They support a team as long as that particular team is winning.

I've seen this movie a couple times on HBO recently and although like the original poster I'm not much of a Red Sox fan, I must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I think because I see a lot of my obsession with A&M athletics in Ben's love for the Red Sox. I really think I'm gonna end up having to buy this movie.
