attn: SDT sisters....is it worth it?
 

i will be a sophomore at hofstra university on long island new york in the fall. i know i want to become a sister of sigma delta tau. is their a special quality SDT looks for in pledges and if so, what are they? any advice for a potential pledge? and most important, would you say pledging is overrated or is it worth everything it is made out to be. thanks for your time =)

I just pledged this year...I'm part of the Alpha Class of the newest Chapter at Rutgers Camden... I would have to say every chapter is made up of different types of girls which is what makes us all so great, some probably look for personalities who are more consistent with their own, and others are a little more open to diversity of personalities as is the case with every organization (so no one gets offended)...This is where rush comes in...Go out and see what the ladies are like and let them know what you're about...If you feel like these are girls that you would like to one day call sisters then go for it. I don't know about the chapter at your school, but like I said that's exactly what rush is for. Go out meet and greet and see if the experience is for you.

I am a founder for the Delta Zeta @ RU-camden....I choose SDT because i love what we are about and the community sevice that we do....(i.e PCAA)......i also saw myself in alot of the girls....The rush process is great because u get to meet alot of the sisters....i didn't have the opportunity to be a rushee but, I could see that SDt is a great Org. and has great people in it....i wish u the best in the fall i hope that SDT is the one for u and hope to be able to call u a sister one day....it seems that u are a nice person...

i also wish u the best of luck in ur rush next semester. even if u decide not to rush SDT :rolleyes: , please greatly consider rushing another sorority. being in sdt has completely changed my life around. i cant say enough good things about my girls. there are no words to describe what they do for me just by smiling at me when im sitting in class and they walk by outside. its an amazing bond that even my biological sister and i do not share. it is worth the experience and these are girls that will be a part of your life for the rest of your life. good luck and i hope to be calling you a sigdelt soon!!

I just pledged at UMass-Amherst to SDT, and I was clueless when it came to what they are looking for, but really, be your self! It is an amazin experience and you will not regret it! I am loving every bit! Just make every bit of it fun or yourself, cause only you can control how it goes...hehe;)

molly...one of my best friends in the entire world goes to umass....she's not an sdt but u still gotta love her!!! (we all have our flawls!!) anyway....her name is erica messick and she is just amazing....she will be a junior next semester and she's in the animal study program thing....she goes to a farm and stuff....do you know her?

SDT is worth it!
 

I rushed SDT at Brooklyn College this semster (the Alpha Omicron Chapter) and it is totally worth it! :eek: It was a great exprince and I love my sisters! (If you have any specific questions,s feel free to ocntact me!)

haha...the animal thingy, huh? Erica Messick...well my friend is in the Animal Science program and they have to go to the farm, Hadley Farm...I will find out...dude, I can't wait to go back to school and live with my sisters...hahahah....anyway, I will check for you...sorry for not answering back sooner, I have been in lalaland it's been SOOOOOO HOOOOOT!:cool: Hope you all are enjoying the summer and the HOTNESS:p
