Coming to events just to get free food
 

Has anyone ever done this?

I did this so many times in college that I've lost count.

I made a career out of this in college. It's partly why I got into PR. ;) Vendors, media account execs and others always want to take you out for lunch. I never pass up the opportunity if the food is free!

ETA:
One of roommates from sophomore year and I would go to Publix on the days where they were giving out their food samples. We'd fill up on those so that we wouldn't have to pay for a meal.

It's one of the joys of being in school! There is ALWAYS an event with free food. Now of course you can't just run in, get a plate and leave. You have to stay for at least 5 mins., say "hey" to any faces you recognize and then hit the door.

It's a great way to save money. Still do it, except this time it's with better foods.

Without free events in college, I would have starved, or at least been malnourished.

i do this every now and then. it hasesnt happend lately because i am at work all day and have school at night. i see this happen alot at fraternity rush events. guys would go to all the different events where there is food and would end up not joining. then, we would see them again a semester later at another food rush event.

Anyone that says no is a LIAR!!

This is a regualr habit of all po' folks and college students.

I still do this at work!!! LOL...we have awesome catering for "optional" meetings so I go, get a great lunch and pretend to be interested...haha

Hell barrowed $5.00 from the girl I was dating the last Sem of School. Mother wouldnt send Me any of My Money. Ate Smaks Hamburgers and frys for a week. .55 for both.
