Katrina Kappas
Any displaced Kappas out there?
From HQ: September 1, 2005 Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief As communities throughout the Gulf Coast are reeling from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, please know that Kappa is here to offer support and assistance. When our members' homes and livelihoods are threatened by disasters, the Fraternity and Kappas everywhere would like to help. Kappas demonstrate throughout their lives bonds of sisterhood and mutual support, sustaining members in bad times, celebrating in good times and sharing at all times. This is a time when Kappa will do everything possible to support our sisters who have been impacted by the hurricane. Emergency assistance is available through the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation’s Rose McGill Fund. All donations are tax deductible. You may make a donation to the Foundation online and designate "Rose McGill Fund — Hurricane Katrina Relief" in the Special Instructions section at the bottom of the donation form. Monetary donations in the form of a check can also be made. Please designate on the check "Rose McGill Fund — Hurricane Katrina Relief". These donations can be sent to: The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation P.O. Box 38 Columbus, OH 43216-0038 Any member, chapter, alumna or alumnae association wishing to donate tangible items should contact local disaster relief organizations. Anyone wanting information is encouraged to call 1-(866) KKG-1870. The Fraternity and Foundation stand together during times of hardship and we express our heartfelt concern for those whose lives have been affected by this hurricane. If you need assistance or know someone who does, download a Rose McGill Confidential Aid Application and send it to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation. |
I received some additional information from our Alumnae director of chapters, and I wanted to get the word out. Because some of the information (names and addresses) is sensitive, I have edited this information - contact Fraternity Headquarters if you need additional details.

The Kappa Kappa Gamma Web site will be updated regularly. As new updates are received we will continue to update all of you. Thank you for the outpouring of e-mails, prayers and offers of assistance to our members during this horrific national disaster. |
We just had a kappa from Tulane "transfer" (just until Tulane is up and running again!) to U of I and she is living in the kappa house here! She has been a great addition to the house and everyone is trying to get to know her. I'm glad we were able to help out in some way.

Hi,
I am the editor of THE KEY -- we have coverered some hurricane stories; however, we are looking specifically to hear about displaced collegians that were taken in by other chapters. Would love to hear from you! Kristin Styers Editor, THE KEY |
