News about our greek life brothers and sisters in the Gulf Coast area
I think most of our groups have updates on their websites about how our brothers and sisters are doing in the affected areas.
http://www.kappadelta.org/NewsItem.a...2005-08-30.xml is ours. So far, no reports of severe damage to any KD houses, and no loss of life yet reported. However, a lot of our sisters and their families have lost their homes. I hope that KD will organize some way for us to help them. Post any info about your chapters here! |

Delta Gamma's info. It looks like none of the houses were destroyed. |
Glad to hear that sisters are safe and sound. Snaps to DG's Gamma Zeta Chapter at Lousiana State for taking in sister's families.
Incidentally..LOOOOVVEEE the Kappa Delta website! |
Good job reporting! I heard the Mayor of Chicago just asked everyone that could afford it, to send $100.00 to the Red Cross.

AOII has a message board but it is on our secret side of the website.

An update was posted in the DG forum..pretty much everything at Loyola has been destroyed :(

Tri Sigma has 4 chapters in Louisiana:
UL-Lafayette Northwestern State University Southeastern Lousiana University Nicholls State University According to HQ, our foundation is doing everything they can to help sisters from these chapters who were affected by the hurricane. I believe that Southeastern was the chapter closest to the hurricane's path. We have yet to receive damage reports from any of the chapters at this time. |

I believe a couple of our houses were totalled but it sounded like everyone was safe and away from the area.

Alpha Xi Delta's Statement on Katrina
They were finally able to get ahold of someone from the chapter at UNO and everybody is okay. |
A very sweet story -- the DZ chapter at LSU has taken in a Times-Picayune reporter who was a DZ at South Carolina and who lost her New Orleans home:

Alpha Chi Omega will be releasing a statement sometime soon on the website. I am pretty sure things are OK from what I've been hearing.

I haven't heard any public updates from yesterday; I actually didn't think about checking out the private side for our own updates. Anyway, here is Tri Delta's update: http://www.tridelta.org/news/news_hurricane_katrina.asp
I really hope they were able to make contact with those chapters by now :( |
