who funds it and how did it start?

The story of Greekchat:
The Creation
In the beginning John created the Chatboard.
It was formless and void and darkness was over the threads of the deep, and the Spirit of John was moving over the surface of the bandwith.

Then John said, "Let there be Forums"; and there was Forums.

John saw that the Forums were good; and God separated the Greek-Talk from the Other.

John called the Greek-Talk "Greek Life", and the Other He called ChitChat And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Then John said, "Let there be a Search funtion in the midst of the chaos to come, and let it separate the regulars from the newbies." And John saw that it was good.

Then John said, "Let the Forum have Members"; and it was so. And John saw that it was good.

Then John saw all that he had made was good.

Then the Trolls began to fill the board and tempted the good members to eat from the tree, so they could be like John...

And thus we have GC as it is today.
