Top 3 GLO's you respect on a national level

Being a member of LXA, which is a relatively young GLO -founded 1909, I respect SPE for it's impressive development since it's early 20th century founding.

List of others:

SX - overall quality as well as active alumni base
Tie - FIJI/Beta Theta Pi- for their steady conservatice expansion and adherence to tradition

Sigma Chi and Phi Delta Theta for their rich heritage and strong existance within the Fraternity World (not just because they're the second and third legs of the Miami Triad :) ). I also think SAE is tough just due to their size and strength on most campuses.

Delta Sigma Phi of course
Phi Delta Theta
Phi Kappa Psi

While it is personel criteria, then one should look at all of the criteria before leaving someone out.

What to use: Longevity, Expansion, Size, Numbrer of Alums, Where they are located, How far is the expansion? What are the Risk Management Polocies, Ethnic Polocies, (Most are pretty well stated in both of these instences).

The Union Triad are well thought of but did not expand like the Miami Triad. They too quit expansion for a while.

Not know enough about All of The National Fraternitys, it is really hard to select just 3.

How can any one snub, SN, TKE, BTP, TX, PDT, Fiji, STG,Etc.

Not putting you down at all.

Being a FIJI myself, I will choose 3 other fraternities.

In no special order...

1. Beta Theta Pi
2. Theta Chi
3. Sigma Chi

Glitterkitty 08-18-2005 08:41 PM

Theta Phi Alpha
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Sigma Nu

Hmmm...

Tough one... Of course, I respect my own... TKE has the most active chapters in the nation (not to mention canada) - with that said, im gonna go ahead and criticize Sig Ep for claiming that theyre the largest...

But im gonna go ahead and commend them for trying to be... or even getting close.. LOL... :D :p

No, but seriously... I respect the other of the top fraternities nationally as our competition...

I respect Sigma Nu (also because the Sigma Nus that I have met have all been classy - cant say that about everyone), Sigma Chi, Lambda Chi (mostly because of Tom Earp :D , Pi Kappa Alpha and yes, even SAE...

For women, I love Delta Gamma (im the Anchorman for their chapter at my school - so im biased), Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alpha Chi Omega, etc...

Respect

SAE, SIGMA CHI AND DELTA TAU DELTA have done a very good job over a long period time

I think for me the important thing is to differentiate between national organization practices and local biases.

I really think that several of the chapters I dont' particularly have a lot of respect for on my campus are still pretty good nationally.

For example, I love the Nebraska APhis, but everything I've heard about the national organization is weaker compared to others (not to be a hater...just what I've heard).

As for National orgs I really respect:

Phi Delt (for dropping out of NIC on principle even though I don't necessarily agree)
Ditto Kappa Sig
SAE

Tri Delt
PiPhi
Gamma Phi
