What are the BEST ways to get men there?

How do you get them TO the events, what are some ingenius and successful ideas to do this?

I see that you are a Beta.
I always tell rush chairmen to spend half their time rushing the brothers, individually and separately. Men will follow other men who are leaders. You will get nowhere making speeches and pleading in chapter meeting. Fines and threats don't work with 19-year-olds. They will respond to yuor leadership if you approach each man separately, away from the others - in their room, over coffee, walking to class - and tell them about your vision for the chapter and ask them for their support. If you ask them directly to support the chapter, and support you, they wil come to specific events. You will buld a cadre of disciples who will copy you and do the same thing. It's an amazing process to watch. remember, men follow other men who lead. And, you're not going to be successful leading from the front of the room. One on one is the key. All the best to you.

Exactly. Lobby to people individually. Like Firehouse said, 19 year olds don't respond well to people pleading in chapter meeting. If you talk to them one on one it tells them a- you cared enough about them to talk to them on a personal basis b- you care that much about the fraternity that you really wanted to make sure your message got across to them.

They will respect you for that, trust me.

One thing that always worked for me in chapter was getting people on my side by being their friends. Getting people to be on your side by telling them to do something infront of 50/100/150 other guys doesn't promote much for intamacy and they will just look at you like another slimeball politician.
