Hurricaine Katrina
I know some of you are in the Louisiana/Alabama/Mississippi area, please be safe - I hope you have evacuated!
<3 Also, my sisters up north here, especially Pittsburgh area - I hope you are prepared in case of a flood! |
Hey there! I'm writing from 2 hours away from Baton Rouge. I got out in time yesterday to await the landfall of Katrina. The journey was very long and tiresome. It normally takes 2 hours to get here and the trip took 4 1/2 hours. Please forgive our LA, MS, and TN sisters if they can't get to you right away. Right now there are aproximately 750,000 people without electricity. If you want to keep updated on the situation, go to WAFB to get any new info. That's a station out of Baton Rouge. Our house survived the storm but we aren't allowed to return home yet because of all the debris. Also, if anyone is having problems contacting their family members in this region and CAN NOT get through, try sending your family member a text message. Most of the text messages have been getting through, but not all the phone calls. Much love, Berny

I'm writing this from a hotel room in Jacksonville, FL--got out at the crack of dawn Sunday and drove all day to get here. I'm safe and sound.
I haven't heard from my chapter sisters yet, so I hope they're OK. cutetiger, glad to hear you're safe and sound, too. |
