Greeting and Slideshow Question
 

Hi all,

I thought I'd say hi and introduce myself.
My name's Emily, and I pledged UCLA's Delta Gamma house last fall. Moved in the house after fall quarter and have been loving it ever since!

Now for my question,
This year our panhellenic started "no frills rush," which means that our chapter can no longer hire someone to do our slideshow for rush. Since I'm the techie of my house, the slideshow has now become my responsibility. Does anyone have any good song suggestions? We're doing Sweet Home Alabama for the Finale, and I want to utilize a few other songs throughout the slideshow.

The slideshow subthemes are:
Bid Day, Presents, Philanthropy - BCC and Anchorsplash, Sports, Mom's Day, Dad's Day, Deegee's Abroad, Date Parties, Pinnings, Formal, Seniors

Any help would be great!

I did ours our junior year (it looked no different than if a professional had done it b/c I had the proper equipment, and it was free!), so if you need any help, just let me know! I still have the videos, so I'll look and see if I can come up with any songs.

The song we used the past 2 years was "Uptown Girls"- goes great with DG and the City! :)

CarolinaDG, thanks so much for you offer! I will probably be bugging you before mid sept (when I have to have the video done. :) ).

Right now I'm using a combination of photoshop and imovie (I don't have the $$ for final cut), and it's looking pretty good so far. It's a lot of pressure because our slideshow day is one of our most important days of rush.

AUDeltaGam, Uptown Girls is really cute!

I don't know how long your slideshow is, but I have a mix of songs (it's 20 minutes long) that I used for a DG slideshow. Great songs, all upbeat that are sisterhood type songs. If you want to hear it let me know and I'll figure out a way to get the mp3 to you.

I used iMovie. I swear, you can barely tell the difference... especially if you're just an 18-year old girl looking at pretty pictures. :) The only bad thing that happened with ours was that the scanned-in pictures weren't very high quality... and unfortunately some of those were the really good pictures. Are you just going to hook the computer up to an LCD?

WhiteDaisy, that would be so awesome! I'll PM you so we can figure out the easiest way to get it to me.

CarolinaDG, yep, we're going to hook it up to a projector. We're still figuring out what screen to do, but it's looking really good so far! :)
