Has anyone read the book like me? Well I was surprised when I saw this:

Well, I will have to see this man. But c'mon, is this shit predictable or what.

THis would have been way cooler, yet creepier yet funnier, yet weirder.

Young guy is handsome and super rich.

Steve Martin is old,is poor is weird.

I read it too, i liked it for the most part, but it doesnt seem like a book to movie book you know?

I read it...will he star in "The Pleasure of My Company" too? I know it isn't in the works yet, but if Shopgirl does well, who knows? I like his writing style, but can only hear his voice when I read his books...not a bad thing, though.

p.s. Martin's character may be "weird" but def. isn't poor, IIRC...

You think so? I think there are several situations from the book that can be funny. Like Jeremy's interaction with Mirabelle - oh, and I think the cast is awesome. I think Clair Danes is a good actress.

Did anyone go see this? It is awesome and a great adaptation of the book. If you are a fan of Jeremy Schwartzman you must see him in this - he is hilarious. I loved it.

Is it gay to see this without a girl?

Absolutely not - when I saw it there were a lot of guys there and they were laughing alot. Its good and worth checking out.

It got awful reviews. In fact it's a 56% on rottentomatoes.com. It's difficult to drop below a 60%.

Its your perogative but not all reviews out there are negative., and I loved it. Maybe if you went open-minded you'd love it! ;)

I've read the book but haven't seen the movie. Sigirl, which other actress would you have chosen to play the part of Mirabelle?
