New Georgia AOPi Pledge

Thought you might like to know that the latest Georgia pledge class includes an Olympic medalist in gymnastics, Courtney Kupets.

There's a nice video montage of her at Shanfan's site.

Yes and thank you for sharing the links. We are happy about all our new members. Courtney is also one of 10 legacies that we pledged at GA this year. GO DAWGS!

It's always exciting to have so many legacies come home to AOII. Congrats to everyone at Georgia this year!

Wow! Congrats on 10 legacies...I can't even imagine having that many legacies go through recruitment...we barely get one a year.:)

And how cool! Olympic gymnast?

If anyone watches the video montage, the scar on the back of her leg is from surgery after she ruptured her Achilles tendon in a meet. She went through rehab and ultimately came back and made the 2004 Olympic team. In Athens, the US women's gymnastics team won the silver, and Courtney Kuputs won an individual bronze in the bars competition. She's one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time to compete in the NCAA. So I just thought that this was really impressive. Congratulations on your entire pledge class. The AOPis that I've met have seemed like nice people.

As an Olympics junkie and a fan of elite gymnastics, I am very proud that we have pledged Courtney Kupets. However, I hope that she can have the same AOII experience as every other New Member. I am sure our sisters at UGA and everywhere else will do a great job of that. We are proud of all of our new members, including Courtney.
