Travelling to SoCal...

It's way early, but I'm doing some research.

I'm planning on flying from Sacramento to Orange County with 3 other people. We want to go to Disneyland in the middle of January of 2006. We have the option of going to LAX as well, but OC is closer, but more expensive.

I'm getting prices of $69-$105 on Southwest to the OC and back. Is that usually what it is? Or do they go cheaper as the year goes on?

Depends on how far ahead of time you purchase your tickets. Cheapest fares on Southwest are relatively inflexible - no refund or cancellation (but you can apply the price of the ticket to purchase another one within one year of original purchase). If you elect to standby for the next flight or miss it, you hafta upgrade to full unrestricted fare.

The prices SWA quoted are about right. Ticket prices on Southwest don't rise much more above that.

I recommend you also download Southwest's DING! program... it will alert you of cheap fares in your area:

Cosign on the DING! program. I have it running on my system, and I'm amazed at the fares Southwest has. I'm also amazed at the restrictions, but can usually live with them.

Bon voyage!
