does "classy" mean "classic"?

I just recently highlighted my hair for my upcoming rush at UT- Austin. It isn't exactly traditional colors. There are 3 colors chunked. Brown, RED, and Blonde. I have had this color scheme before and it is very pretty... HOWEVER- i guess i am just wondering if the fact that my hair isnt the traditional brunette, if I will lose "points" with the houses??? All my clothing are very conservative and classic, i just don't want anyone writing me off as being too extreme b/c of my hair color(s). Any thoughts???

If you feel good about your hair, and feel confident, it will show. Most sororities aren't looking for cookie cutter sisters, they're looking for self-confident, enthusiastic, academic women!

Of course, this could differ at some schools - but if you're happy with it, you need to decide if you'd be happy in a sorority that did look down on you because of your hair.

Different sororities look for different types of women, so none of us can really speak for much more than our own chapters...

But I personally would have loved to see a girl come through rush with really artsy hair like that! ;) I love to know that a girl is comfortable in her own skin.

If a sorority is going to cut you because of your hair... would you really want to join them?

Your hairstyle is a reflection of who you are. It's part of what we always tell PNMs - be yourself. As long as your hair is clean and nicely styled (i.e. not looking like you just rolled out of bed) you're good to go.

So true...

Plus, blonde, red, and brown are not exactly green, purple, and orange. As long as it's tastefully done and not tiger stripes or something, I'm sure you'll be fine. Yes, I know UT is a super competitive school, but I think as long as you feel good about it, it's well done, and it's brushed, you should be fine. Have fun!

I'm only a PNM, but I think you hair is great that way!

I love chunky highlights, and have done both the red and blond on my brown hair before. I love it, and if you love it, then show it when you meet all of the women!

Good luck!
