Poetry - Springtime
 

Do we have any poets here? I just attended an assembly at my school where I heard the most wonderful poetry on Springtime written by the students. Share your poetry here!!

Here is part of one of the poems written and recited at the program.

How do I know Spring is here?
Easters coming, animals funning,
More playtime, a longer day
Throw your coats away
Put your shorts on and go out to play
Bunny rabbits are hopping this way
Santa Claus has gone ho, ho, ho that way

So sit back and sip on a Sprite
The beaches will open as we reunite

Flowers come out
Winter goes away
And for 6 more months
The sun's here to stay

The trees get their leaves
The birds come back
And you hang up your coat
on your old coat rack

Butterflies fly high
Squirrels play and run around
Bees wake up and ats come out of the ground

Spring is here
It is here to stay
So get up and get dressed
Go outside and play!

OK HERE IS THE REST OF IT!

The weather is fun with all the green leaves
It's so great to see the birds and the bees

Spiders come in and mosquitos sting
My heart is full of joy because it is Spring

It's the season when plants grow
For months it doesn't snow
We watch any TV show during Spring break
And we also stay home and eat Cornflakes

When the break is over, don't act a fool
when we return to school
We all hope we will pass, so let's get to class!

Here is the poem my son's second grade class recited. This is my inspiration for this month.

I'M SMART AND I'M STRONG

I'm smart and I'm strong
I'm ready for whatever comes along
I've got good friends
We stick together until the end
And I'm able to do
whatever I put my mind to do
I like myself, I'm worth a lot!
Don't say I'm not cause you can't see
inside of me
I LIKE MYSELF, I'M WORTH A LOT!
I LIKE MYSELF, I'M WORTH A LOT!
