Okay, so my coworker, Mary has a daughter that is going to WKU (my alma mater).... anyway, she and her roommate are going through rush, which starts next Wednesday. I told her I wanted to know how rush was and everything and she said she would give me updates daily during rush... so here is their thread.
There are seven sororities at WKU

ADPi
AGD
AOPi
Chi O
KD
Phi Mu
SK

Neither of them are legacies and her daughter isn't sure she wants to join a sorority. I am supposed to meet her daughter before she goes away for lunch today so that I can give her some advice (and possibly write her a rec).

So here we go... it should be interesting since I am an alum of one of the chapters and I plan on going to help with recruitment.

Best wishes to "RusheeGirl" and her roommate. I remember a friend of mine didn't want to join a sorority, then she went through rush, fell in love and now is an excellent sorority girl! lol.

I just feel the overwhelming need to share my excitement that there's a Hilltopper recruitment thread on GC :D

I know! This girl is super sweet but sort of shy... I told her to be herself and just relax, she's going to have a ball. I also told her to be sure and ask questions and to look on the net about the sororities and try to ask specific questions about the chapter.
There is one sorority on campus I think would really fit her personality well and help her bloom, but I am going to wait until after rush to see if my gut was right.

The recruitment orientation is tonight- she was telling her mom she hopes she is in the same group as her roommate/best friend.
Her mom is so excited for her. She said she wished she had joined a sorority but now maybe she can live vicariously through Rushee Girl....

Rushee Girl was asked back to 4 sororities and she was dropped by her two favorites. Right now she is going to Theme day, but her mom says she will probably drop out... she didn't feel the "Click" with any one else... She was even dropped from the house I thought she would fit perfect in... cuts are rough this year. They are using the higher cut rates earlier on.
So she will be attending parties at AGD, SK, Phi Mu, and AOPi.

Her roommate was invited back to all 7 and will be returning to AOPi, ADPi, Chi O, KD and SK.

(ETA Seeing as how I am not being condescending or discussing the girls reactions to chapters I don' think it matters if I discuss what houses they return to... not only that but honestly, there is NO way to discern who they are)....

I would agree - just because these houses weren't her favorites is not insulting. If everyone had the same favorites we would have just one GLO. Of course, I could just be saying that because mine is one of the non-favorites...;)

Okay, sorry I havent updated-
RUshee girl was invited back to three chapters for pref and decided to drop. Since all chapters but one took quota and only two will be COBing and they were two of the ones that asked her to pref I am pretty sure she wont be COBing.. she may rush next year, WKU isnt hard on sophomores.

Anyway, her roommate is now a new member of Kappa Delta!
It was her first choice all the way through. I am not sure where she attended pref at...

Yay!!! GO KD!!!
