Reference Writing
Hey sisters! I'm writing my first reference for a pnm at Michigan State (they have a really big rush and greek system I'm told, so I think it'd be helpful). She's an absolutely amazing girl so I really want to make sure I do her justice. Any advice on how to put it together. I have the form, I'm just not sure what to say in the part I have to write out. I've only heard one myself, so I don't really know what go off of.
If anyone has ANY words of advice it'd be much appreciated!! :D |

First of all, I recommend using KD's EZRec form, so you can use MSWord.
Secondly, if this girl is "amazing," then describe why you think she is amazing. You don't have to fill out the whole space. What does this girl have that will be an asset to the chapter, such as: Is she in student government? Does she have a history of activities (girl scouts, etc)? Does she have any talents (art, dance, music)? If you're not sure of these things, then find out from the PNM. |
Yeah, go to the website, then click
KD SERVICES then REFERENCE FORM and you will be able to get the Reference Form in PDF or Word format. I filled one out last year, and it basically has spots for academics, volunteer work, sports, clubs, honor societies, etc. There is also room to put "why you think this girl would make a great KD." I filled out a rec last year and she is now a happy member of the Beta Pi chapter at UF! I received a lovely thank you note from the chapter, and that's when they informed me that she pledged KD! Good luck to your friend, I'm sure your rec will help her stand out. |

how did the rec writing go? when is Michigan State's recruitment? Have you heard anything about how your PNM did? |
Thanks for the replies! The writing went as well as it could I guess. I was so nervous doing it but I was an english/comm. major so hopefully I pulled it together well.
Anyway, their recruitment's not until the 18th or there abouts, so now I've just got some waiting to do. :) Thanks again though for everyone's help in this thread and via pm's as well! :D |
Hey ladies! MSU had their Bid Night today, and I just found out Ashley's a pledge there now! Well, New Member to be PC. I'm soo stinking excited!! :D
