The T.O. appreciation thread!
I love T.O. even though I hate the Eagles. I can't wait to see him in action this year.
Anyone else? |
T.O.? I thought that was a reference to Toronto!
I do appreciate that city. It's great! |

I love the Eagles, but right now TO can lick Rudey's leather cheerio - a staged blowup at the coach, a week suspension during the middle of camp, and all the Rosenhaus bullshit? I think sometimes the E's would be better off with Todd Pinkston back instead |

I don't like Andy Reid. T.O. should have slapped him for making him go out and sign autographs when he should have been inside rehabbing his groin injury. I gurantee you he would catch all kinds of shit if his groin is still bothering him when the season starts and it affects his playing. Being an individual that has recently gotten over a goin injury a little over a week ago, I can tell you its no joke and you definitely need to stay off your feet. |

TO was cleared to practice, and did participate in some workouts all week - he wasn't exactly being tossed out there in street clothes. I've experienced groin injuries slightly more serious than TO's (although playing hockey, not football - similar effect, though), and I do understand the need for rest and treatment . . . but he took his week off, and was cleared by his own medical people. It's hard for me to buy the groin pitch. |

I agree with you on the fact that Reid was just trying to throw that weight of his around. He's probably just pissed that TO is wanting is contract reorganized and wanted to let him know who the boss is on the field. Instead of doing what TO's infamous for, which is running his mouth, he just ignored Reid and went along his business. I think that its pretty messed up that whatever TO does short of catching passes and making touchdowns just isnt good enough for anyone in Philly. Seriously, the man set franchise records last year and basically took the Eagles to the SuperBowl. McNabb wasnt anything but an overrated, washed up QB who bitched about Rush Limbaugh until TO came on the scene. As far as practice goes...I think he missed 5 out of 6. And when he did practice it was with an assistant trainer and he caught balls thrown from a machine. Right? Still, a groin injury requires more than a week or 2 to rehab. I've never played hockey and so I don't know how bad groin injuries are in that sense. When I injured mine I was bench pressing 425lbs. Don't ask me how in the hell I did that while benching...but I did. I felt it when it happened. It kind of felt like whenever you're taking a shit and you're straining to get it out and then it comes out real quick, only this time I wasnt taking a dump. It felt really weird. I got up and was a little sore but a week later I couldnt even get out of bed. And when I was standing up I sometimes had to lean over because standing straight hurt so bad. I couldn't even have sex for like a week. I felt like I was going to die till I went to the doc and he gave me some pain pills. |
I thought you were talking about Toronto...
never mind.. |
You people need to watch more football.

Owens didn't really lead Philly to the super Bowl although his presence did almost end up winning it. He's a great player but his act is getting thin and this staged blow-up is just another thing that will pass over. There is no way he will act up or sit out when they open on Monday night and then his former team the week after.
Hey Rob, Owens and ManRam seem to have a lot in common in their own way it seems. Both guys "blow up" easily yet at the end of the day they can take over a game like hardly anyone else can. |

Interesting comparison - I think they're both very needy, but I think TO has a little more desire for self-exposure than Manny . . . Manny does some crazy shit, but he's never really been about anything but ripping the baseball and being a weirdly child-like man, where TO is more of the consummate superstar. |

Part of the problem may be that TO doesn't think he's getting support from his teammates. Again, this isn't to excuse how he's acted; I'm not a big fan of how he's acted this offseason. I think there have to be other factors going on though. Any of us who have had a groin pull know that it's tough to come back from, especially with the intensity of training camp workouts. After what he did in the Super Bowl last year, I'm not ready to challenge his toughness. I do question his (as well as Drew Rosenhaus') judgement, though. Anyone else think Rosenhaus could be on thin ground with T.O. if he doesn't get a new deal quickly? |

That, and he hasn't delivered the contract . . . I think it's just a matter of time until he's gone |

It's sad that when I saw the title of this thread, I thought of Time Out - - the bar I frequent.....
Anyhow, I'm not an Eagles fan, but I do like Owens. |
