help me out...

Hey guys. So to make a long story short, I'm going to have to be in the dorm again cause I wasn't able to get an apartment on campus. HOwever....when I signed up back in March to keep my room, which is a single, that there was no guarantee that I would have a single room.

I don't do roomates. Not in a dorm situation. Huh uh.

So on a whim I decided to lie a bit...and I don't like to lie!...but I called up Res Life and told them I was recently diagnosed with a medical condition that would require me to have a single room. She told me to fax in a letter explaining the situation. Not one from my doctor...but from me.

But now, what on earth would require me to have a single room? Anyone have any ideas?

I know this is totally bad and I never lie but the thought of having a roommate....noooo. Don't think I'm a bad person, I just was desperate. :D

Thanks!!

I wish I couold get a single! I'd even take a double! There are four of us, but it's an apartment style dorm so I guess it can't be that bad...

Whats that disease where you are allergic to everything? Environmental toxcisity or something. Its where you cant be exposed to any perfumes, dyes, etc or you get real sick. You could say that a roomate would hav eto adopt your super clean / chemical free lifestyle and your doctor suggests that you live a lone. Cause even if a roomate hugges someone that was wearing perfume or deoderant it would send you to the ER with a miagrane.

Dont sweat it, you got it. Since I am a youngest child, life taught me that the rules dont apply to me, so I am used to getting what I want.

Go with something mental - like you've got turrets and you're schizo.

A bowel disorder will do it, especially if the single room has a bathroom. Someone on my floor did that after freshman year and was given a single with his own bathroom.

NO ONE ever questions whether you have bowel disease or not.

Just like no one questions people who call in sick to work cause they got the runs.....

Try saying that your claustrophobic and anthrophobic (the one where your scared of being around people in social situations). Even though ur in SAI...maybe they wont realize it until its too late to give u a roomie! lol. Just say that by having a roommate, they'll be forcing you to socialize with someone you dont know and with the phobia you just can't handle that. PLUS having claustrophobia makes u even worse since a dorm room is already a small space and by having a roommate, the space gets even smaller! lol

Yeah, if you have a bowel issue, even if you don't have a bathroom, you can say you may experience "night time leakage" that would be embarassing and/or unsanitary for someone else to have to experience.

I have Crohn's and would definitely say that I'm glad I didn't have it in college because my poor suitemates would've been miserable. I vote for bowel disease.. or extreme allergies as someone else said.
