30 years old and pledging?

My best friend is 30 years old and is a junior. One day we were talking and she stated that she is thinking of pledging one of the BLOG Sorority. I'm thinking undergrad chapter at 30? Your going to be the oldest person online! The women in those organization ages range from 18 to 20, why not try a grad chapter after you graduate. She said she did care and she was going for it...I told her I will support her on her decision..

I would just like to hear your thoughts on this.

Thank You

Re: correction

First thing is first...ONE MUST BE INVITED to membership. So if your "best friend" is 30 or 55 and an undergrad...my Sorors have to first want her to be a member. She can go for it as much as she likes...but that is the ONLY way to gain membership. Some women relate well to younger women....others do not. What ever the case...she needs to exercise discretion. And so do you ;)

Many commuter colleges have older students. There are certain collegiate chapters in DST that have an average age of 30.

LOL.....you mean BGLO

You all need to stop, you know she meant BGLO, Black Greek Letter Organization... :p I got you on that Blue Rage...;)

I know several women in their 30's that went undergraduate once they were selected, it is her prerogative to do so. Age is not a factor in such, meeting guidelines are.:D She should go for it, maybe she wants to endure the undergraduate level atmosphere of the process...sounds good to me! We should support our sisters(black women) in anything we do that is in the good of people and service.

SCREECHING..........PEACE OUT!:D

To answer the original question, the oldest aspirant for an undergraduate chapter I've come across was 27. Age isn't an issue for me, I would just wonder how would the person feel being in a chapter full of 18-21 yr olds.

you did have me cracking up when you commented on BLOG but I knew what the poster meant....lol

I have heard of older women going undergrad. It makes no difference to me as long as she meets standards and guidelines.

And clarification you got. We all make mistakes in typing. However, if the question or comment is especially important I think its wise to proofread and use the edit function when necessary.

Hello sistah greeks...nice of you all to visit! Have some lemonade on this hot August day!

@LadyGreek--
commuter schools=nontraditional age students... makes sense to me ;)

I pledged at 27 and am in an undergrad chapter. I feel fine. I think the sista should go for it.

I know of a Soror who came through undergrad in her 30's. She's one of the most dedicated Zetas I know.

First of all hello to all on the board. As far as becoming a member at a later age. I became an Omega at what was thought a old age and I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Even though I wish I would have done it when I was an undergrad.
